it's a...

i'm tickled pink to announce...

we are absolutely over the moon in love.

i must admit we are cheaters and found out at about 15 weeks. d was going to be gone for the 20 week appointment (when most parents find out the gender) and i wanted him to see the baby at least once on ultrasound.

throughout the 1st trimester i had 3 baby dreams, 2 in which baby H was a girl and once baby H was a boy. growing up i had always thought i'd have a boy and 2 girls, so i automatically thought this baby would be a boy. we had picked out a boy name- jack- even before we were engaged. however, the girl name we had picked out- olivia- just didn't feel right for this baby... further convincing me that this was a boy.

well a week before our ultrasound i started seeing baby girls everywhere. i texted my mom early that week and told her "i have baby girl fever!" still, when the tech told us we had a little baby girl in there my heart stopped beating, it all of a sudden had an identity and was OUR little girl. an amazing feeling.

17 weeks!

oops. looks like i missed 16 weeks? i'll get better i promise. to be honest not too much has changed.

also, you'd think i'd be smart and use our new canon rebel to take belly pictures. will try to remember that for next week! for now a fuzzy iphone shot...

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 17 weeks

Total Weight Gain: up 2 pounds

Maternity Clothes: i did buy some AMAZING maternity tanks i'll be reviewing this week but other than that no

Movement: WE HAVE MOVEMENT! i thought i felt him/her a few times this weekend but then yesterday i definitely felt movement. especially after i drank a glass of cold water, felt like someone was lightly dancing inside my belly! on my runs yesterday and today it was really odd- i could feel exactly where she was the entire time, kind of felt like a light pressure (no pain) but when i came home i used the doppler and sure enough she was on the left side like i had thought. what a wonderful feeling

Sleep: eh alright, still waking up a few times to use the restroom, and i definitely don't sleep like a log as i previously did

Symptoms: nothing really

Cravings: i have been STARVING the past few days. i think it might be my weight gain trying to catch up with me. i'm embarrassed/proud to admit i ate almost an entire medium pizza last night. all to myself.

Emotions: still thrilled. so happy my emotional roller coaster is on pause for now because for a few weeks i was absolutely crazy hormonal

Best Moment of the Week: feeling the baby move!

baby H!

a few weeks before thanksgiving i just wasn't feeling right.

unbelievably tired, busting out of my bras, cranky & hungry.

turns out...

Baby H has decided to make his/her appearance a little sooner than we were planning :)

Tentative due date is August 1, 2011! meaning I'm at about 16 weeks right now. Mama and baby are doing wonderful.

{baby H at 6 weeks}

{after another ultrasound at 11 weeks (no pic sad day) baby H looked exactly like a gummy bear. which led to a gummy bear binge for me...}

We're both absolutely thrilled & feel very blessed. I'm feeling great, still exercising 5 days and week and trying my best to stay healthy. I do have a few belly pics but really I'm not showing yet. I haven't gained any weight but it looks like I'm forming a definite beer belly.

All thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated! I'm turning into my mother and worrying about every little thing! I'm working on taking each day as it comes and being thankful for each day I get to experience this wonderful journey!
